    Frog Races!
The Annual Frog Races are to be held at Regatta Beach on Sept 1, 2008. That’s only a few weeks from now. Your frogs should all be in light training by now, not too much, you don’t want the frogs to peak too soon.

Flyers with the current fire pumps’ locations maps and a list of procedures to be followed in the event of a fire should have been delivered to each and every cottage on the lake before the first weekend of August.
If you did not receive your copy of the map and instructions, please contact Gwen Robinson.

On Friday, August 15th the Fire Rating was listed as MODERATE.

We had had our second fire of the season back in June.
On Friday, June 13 about 7:00 pm lightning struck the rear of the cottage located on Lot 6 and started a fire in a back washroom and bedroom. Luckily neighbours saw the strike and immediately took action and got the fire pumps and volunteers to fight the fire. Randy Gauer once again took charge and directed the fire fighting efforts of the volunteers and saved the basic cottage structure which was only 10 years old.
The Township of Georgian Bay firefighters arrived on the scene after the fire was under control. The cottage was saved, however there was damage to the rear of the cottage and the rest of the cottage suffered severe smoke damage.
Thanks to Ryan and Karrie Thomson and Jordon and Cameron Redshaw for their quick action and effort in fighting the fire. Well done Randy and all the others who assisted.
